The end of cinemas and a lesson from porn

It is reported that Cineworld is set to temporarily close its UK cinemas in the coming weeks [LINK].

The shutdown on the UK because of a virus that is on the same level of danger as being run over, has meant that many businesses will shut. but many will never recover, simply because even in yeas to come, many will still live in fear and be wearing masks and will fear being in public.

we can presume this as many will cycle with those cycle helmets in the belief it will protect them. In reality, one can see cars get much closer to cyclists with these helmets on, as they are seen as sensible and as such more likely to be hit by a car (in my opinion, than such as myself who never wears them and cars make an effort to drive much forth round me, presuming I am not so sensible.

In the UK we see nightclubs planning on opening up with so many rules that going would seem rather unpleasant. It is probably not worth opening up and to cut your losses.

Even if things return slightly back to normal, it is probable people will no longer go back to the cinema as they once did.

So it is more than possible the cinema will no longer be around except for the odd art house cinemas.

One suspects that many films will now go direct to such as Netflix or other similar online systems.

Once it was porn sites about 20 years ago that sold content as a members site, now it seems mainstream is now doing the same.
